The Star Weekend caught up with him to find out some interesting facts about him.
What are you three favourite films?
Alo'r Michhil by Narayan Ghosh Mita, Taken (first part) by Pierre Morel, and Aftershock by Nicolas Lopez.
Silver screen or theatre stage?
How can you ask me to choose between two things that I consider as close to me as my own children?
Your most appreciated theatre production and why?
There are 2- Bhelua Shundori and The Communicator. I chose these because these two productions were the ones that tested my true potential as a theatre actor. I was able to portray many different challenging characters, which helped me expand my versatility.
When Shahadat is not acting, he is…
Playing games with my daughter, giving time to my family, and giving time to Patthyanat Kendra.
Who are you favourite actors?
I've always loved Liam Neeson's work. Apart from him, my favourites change. I may like one performance of say Jennifer Lopez in one film, but may not be so impressed by another. So my favourites really depend on whose work I'm seeing and when.
What is your motto in life?
"Do good work and keeping yourself alive."
What do you do to relax between scenes?
Good music or power naps.
What is your ultimate goal?
Being the best actor I can be, to come to a point where when people discuss great actors, my name is mentioned.
What advice would you give to young aspiring actors?
Know, nurture and experience life. Look around, observe and learn about the various characters that life has to offer. Only then will you be able to breathe life into the characters you portray on television or stage.
