BFF decides to postpone elections
The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) decided today to postpone its upcoming elections, which were slated to be held on April 20, to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
A meeting of its executive commitee was held earlier today although the members were not required to be physically present. Instead, they \were asked for their opinions through emails.
Almost all of them opined that a postponement would be the best option and the BFF released a statement reading: "Due to the World Health Organisation declaring the Covid-19 outbreak a pandemic and the government of Bangladesh imposing a nationwide lockdown from March 26 to April 4 to curb the spread of coronavirus, any kind of public gathering is banned nowadays.
"The executive commitee of the BFF has decided to postpone the BFF Elective Congress 2020, previously scheduled to be held on April 20, unless the situation becomes normal. The same will be communicated to AFC and FIFA," it concluded.
