Messi's school honours him
Until he was 11, Lionel Messi was just a hopeful footballer playing for Rosario Central's youth team, while he attended school at the Colégio General Las Heras.
Messi was reportedly an average student back in Argentina, before he left to move to Spain when he joined Barcelona.
Despite never getting great grades, Messi's old school remains naturally proud of their former student, and they have recently gone about paying tribute to the Argentinian hero with a giant painting erected on their building.
Brazilian outlet Globo have boasted that the mural of Messi was made actually painted by a Brazilian, Paulo Consentino.
The image features Messi celebrating a goal for his country while wearing the iconic number 10 Albiceleste jersey.
The painting was made over a 20-day period.
