Abahani take lead after rain delay

Abahani took the lead in the ninth minute of their AFC Cup encounter against Mohun Bagan today, thanks to an expert side-volley from Nigerian forward Emeka Darlington.

Earlier, heavy downpour and lightning had forced the match to be halted for almost an hour at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.

Referee Sukhbir Singh of Singapore stopped the match after just four minutes of play as lightning and thunder showers forced the players run for cover. 

Abahani had lost their away match against the same opposition by 3-1 goals.
