‘Ronaldo thinks he is God and can do whatever he wants’
Cristiano Ronaldo garnered a lot of criticism lately after his outburst following Manchester United's 1-0 loss away to Everton in a Premier League game on Saturday.
Former Liverpool left-back Jose Enrique also did not hold back from expressing how he feels about Ronaldo.
"I always said it," Enrique tweeted. "Don't like him. He believes [that he] is god and can do whatever he wants.
I always said it. Don't like him he believe is God and can do whatever he wants. That doesn't take that is been one of the best players in the history of football but as a person don't like him pic.twitter.com/6ldv6HsmcU; José enrique (@Jesanchez3) April 10, 2022
"That doesn't take that [he's] been one of the best players in the history of football but as a person [I] don't like him."
The Portuguese superstar was seen in a viral video footage smashing the phone of a 14-year-old Everton fan Jake Harding on his way to the dressing room.
Ronaldo, however, later apologised for his behaviour on social media and invited Harding to watch a Manchester United game. But Jake's mother Sarah declined Ronaldo's offer as she went on to say: "We've kindly declined the offer to go to United because Jake doesn't want to go there and he doesn't want to see Ronaldo. He's made that pretty clear."
Merseyside police said on Sunday they were reviewing CCTV footage to establish if Ronaldo committed the offence.
