BFF delegates with Covid-19 symptoms can't cast votes
The election commission today (Thursday) disclosed the schedule of Bangladesh Football Federation's upcoming elections.
The BFF secretariat and general secretary have been given the responsibility to distribute nomination papers and receive the nomination papers.
Some 139 delegates are supposed to cast their votes to elect a 21-member committee -- president, senior vice president, four vice presidents and 15 executive members – for much-talked about October 3 polls.
Aspiring candidates for the president, senior vice president and vice president and members have to buy nomination papers by paying Tk one lakh, Tk 75 thousands, Tk 50 thousand and Tk 25 thousand respectively.
Amid the coronavirus pandemic, the election commission though did not make the Covid-19 test mandatory for the delegates on the voting day, the commission declared some measures at the voting center.
"Everyone has to obey some health measure on election day. Before entering into the voting center, everyone has to wear mask and has to determine body temperature. Anyone having symptom of coronavirus will not be allowed to enter the voting center and can't cast their votes. Besides, everyone has to maintain at least six-yard distance on that day," chief election commissioner and returning officer Mezbah Uddin told the reporters at the BFF House today.
