Jahanara shines for Velocity
Bangladesh Women Team pacer Jahanara Alam shone in the first match of Women's T20 Challenge -- popularly known as Women's IPL -- in Sharjah today. This is her second stint at the Women's IPL.
Playing for Velocity, Jahanra returned impressive figures of two for 27 in her four overs as she helped her side restrict Supernovas to 126 for eight. Jahanara, who last played a T20I against New Zealand in February this year during the T20 World Cup, seemed to have gotten back in the groove very quickly. Coming to bowl in the second over of the game, the right-arm pacer recorded eight dots while being hit for three boundaries during her spell.
Jahanara had Chamari Atapattu caught at long-on after a team high of 39-ball 44 from the Sri Lankan. Jahanara then removed Supernovas captain Harmanpreet Kaur for a 27-ball 31 in her final over.
Velocity won the match by five wickets.
