Bangladesh XI in strong position after Mithun’s 156 and Raja’s four-fer

Bangladesh XI, led by Mohammad Mithun's unbeaten 156, put on a commendable total of 349 for 9 in their first innings on day two of the first four-dayer against Tamil Nadu XI at Chidambaram Stadium today. Following declaration pacer Rejaur Rahman Raja picked up a four-fer to leave Tamil Nadu XI tittering at 82 for 7.

Bangladesh XI had reached 230 for five on day one courtesy of Shadman Islam's 89 while Mithun had remained unbeaten on 74. The skipper remained unbeaten on 156 off 246 deliveries, his knock laced with 10 fours and eight sixes as they declared at 349 for 9.

Bangladesh bowlers were on fire with Taijul Islam bagging two and Khaled Ahmed taking one. Raja was the star with the ball with four for just 17 runs in 7.2 overs as Tamil Nadu reached 82 for 7 in 40.2 overs at close of play, trailing by 267 runs.
