Spelling Bee Grand Finale tonight

After five long months of competition, finally the day is here, when the Spelling Bee Champion of Season 3 will be crowned. After Md Adeeb Ul Haque of Cantonment English School and College, Chittagong (Season 1 Champion) and Sunjack Jesun of St Joseph Higher Secondary School, Dhaka (Season 2 Champion) who will be the champion this year? The viewers are eagerly waiting for tonight.

Nurul Islam Nahid, Minister for Education will grace the event as Chief Guest. A cultural show by children will also be held while the 96 participants will walk the traditional Spelling Bee parade in their gowns before the competition starts.

The Daily Star Spelling Bee Powered by Horlicks is being held in Bangladesh for the 3rd time this year. This year, the competition had nearly 3 lac participants from 1600 participating schools that were much higher than the previous years. The organisers also held a competition for the audiences through Spell Champs smartphone App, and gave out 15 tablet computers to 15 winners and books for 30 school libraries were given away as well this year.

Saif Rahman, Regent College; Ayesha Mehjuba Sinha, Ideal School & College; Naiyareen Fareeza Mayeen, Sunbeams; Haseen Hasnain, HURDCO International School; Wasique Hasan, Marie Curie School and Argho Roy, Anandaniketan School will be fighting for the trophy. Spelling Bee also features Zunaed Rabbani as official pronouncer and Rumana Malik Munmun as anchor. The event is directed by Hassan Abidur Reja Jewel.
