MOZART IN THE JUNGLE
Based on the acclaimed memoir by Blair Tindall, the series is a refreshing situational mix of earnest music, slow-building drama and solid humour. Love, money, ambition and music intertwine in Mozart in the Jungle, a half hour comedic drama that looks at finding yourself and finding love while conquering New York City. A brash new flamboyant, passionate and eccentric maestro Rodrigo (Gael Garcia Bernal) stirs up the New York Symphony orchestra in the midst of a transition as young oboist Hailey (Lola Kirke) hopes for her big chance.
What makes Mozart stand out immediately is the setting – and not just New York, which is the backdrop – but the world of classical musicians and their often hardscrabble life, even at the elite level. The third season was announced on February 9, 2016.
