BESA hosts Female Dota 2 Championship
Bangladesh E-sports Association (BESA) recently hosted an all-girls Dota tournament, dubbed the “Female Dota 2 Championship”. The tournament was sponsored by COdesign and co-sponsored by Auroral Tech Limited.
A total of five teams, featuring all-girl rosters, participated in the tournament. Dota 2 is one of the most popular online games in Bangladesh, among young girls and even mothers, as evident when looking at the participants in this tournament.
The tournament kicked-off with an online league between the five teams on May, with the top two teams set to face off in a LAN final at Auroral Gaming Lounge in Mohakhali. After the gruelling league games, team Aspiring Gaming and Night Fury topped the table and would be heading to the finals.
Auroral Gaming Lounge hosted the finals on June 1, 2019. And after a best of three series of games, team Night Fury emerged as champions, winning 2-1.
With a prize pool of BDT 20000, the champions received BDT 10000 while the first runners-up received BDT 5000 and the second runners-up were provided a total of USD 25 in Steam codes.
