Shakib thanks BCB
Ace allrounder Shakib Al Hasan thanked the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) yesterday for lifting his restriction with regards to the provision of the No Objection Certificate (NOC). The left-hander, who will now be allowed to participate in overseas cricket competitions, told reporters that he was relieved and that the decision would help him to become a better player for Bangladesh.
“I thank the BCB for changing the decision. At the moment I am in talks with teams at the Big Bash. Nothing has been confirmed yet,” said Shakib.
Playing at the Big Bash would be a good opportunity for Shakib to get accustomed to the conditions in Australia, prior to the World Cup there. It was an important aspect according to Shakib, as he believed that it would be tough for Bangladesh to play in those conditions.
“It will be tough playing there, but we have to utilise the practice games leading up to the World Cup,” said Shakib.
