Rtv salutes nine enlightened women

For the second time, satellite TV channel Rtv honoured nine enlightened women marking International Women's Day 2014. Titled as “Rtv Pond's Alokito Nari 2014”, the programme was held at Rtv's Bengal Multimedia Studio, Tejgaon in the capital.
In eight categories, nine enlightened women -- Rasheda K. Chowdhury (Education), Ferdausi Rahman (Music), Mushtari Shafi (Literature), Sayeda Khanam (Photojournalism), Dr. Valerie Ann Taylor (Social Service), Sarah Begum Kabori (Acting, Film), Shimul Yousuf (Acting, Theatre), Rani Hamid (Sports) and Kaniz Almas Khan (Business) received awards at the programme.
State minister for Women and Children Affairs Meher Afroz, as chief guest, handed over the awards. Chief Executive Officer of Rtv Syed Ashik Rahman and managing director of the channel Humayun Kabir Bablu delivered welcome addresses at the event.
