Road crashes kill eight, injure eight
Eight people were killed and eight others injured in road accidents in the country yesterday and Friday.
Our Mymensingh correspondent reports, two people died and two were injured when a car collided head-on with an auto-rickshaw in Padurbaria area in the district on Friday night.
The deceased were Abdul Gafur Munshi, 65, and Dulal Miah, 70, of the upazila.
Our Chapainawabganj correspondent reports, a motorcyclist died when a three-wheeler hit a motorcycle on Chapainawabganj-Sonamasjid land port highway in Sonamasjid area of Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj yesterday.
The deceased was Mokhlesur Rahman, 52, of Horinagar village under the upazila.
Our Jamalpur correspondent reports, three people died and another was injured when a tractor hit them near Jabberganj Bazar under Bakshiganj upazila of the district yesterday.
The deceased, Juel, 17, of Jhalorchar village; Saurav, 18, of Kheyarchar village; and Asadul, 18, of Ayirmari village under the upazila; were students of Bakshiganj Govt KU College.
Our Bhola correspondent reports, a person died and five others were injured when a bus hit a human-hauler on Bhola-Charfashion road near Janata Bazar area on Friday.
The deceased was Anisul Hoque, 70, of Kartarhat village of Lalmohan upazila.
Our Rangpur correspondent adds a person died when a pick-up van collided head-on with a tractor on Rangpur-Badarganj road in Shampur bus stand area of Badarganj upazila yesterday.
The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.
