RU student beaten for not attending BCL programme

Bangladesh Chhatra League activists today beat up a student at Rajshahi University as he expressed unwillingness to attend a programme of the student front of Awami League.

Victim Shilu Hossain is a masters’ student of mass communication and journalism department and resident of Shaheed Shamsuzzoha Hall, reports our RU correspondent.

Shilu Hossain alleged, “Borzahan Ali, the hall unit general secretary of BCL forced me to join their programme. But as I did not want to join, he beat me.”

Contacted, Borzahan denied the allegation saying that he just requested Shilu to join the programme.

RU BCL General Secretary Foysal Ahmed Runu said he will look into the matter.
