Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today dedicated her achievements in the international arena to the people of the country, saying that the world leaders also evaluated her work.

"The success I earned in the international arena through work is not only mine ... it's also a success of the people," she said while replying to a supplementary raised by treasury bench member Shahiduzzaman Sarkar in her question-answer session in the House.

The Leader of the House said she has been working for the development and welfare of the country as well as brightening the country's image and establishing Bangladesh as a peaceful nation.

"The world leaders have evaluated that work ... I'm very much grateful to the people of the country for the success because we have been elected as they gave mandate through vote," she said.

Sheikh Hasina termed her recent visit to Saudi Arabia and participation in the G7 Outreach Meeting in Japan as very fruitful and successful as well as reflection of confidence and honour by the world leaders in Bangladesh's current leadership.

The Leader of the House said this in reply to a starred question from Jatiya Party lawmaker Begum Noor-e-Hasna Lily Chowdhury (women seat-44) in her question-answer session in the House today

The premier said she paid an official visit to Japan on May 26-29 last to join the Outreach Programme of G7 nations, a grouping of world's major advanced economies, at the invitation of Japanese Premier Shinzo Abe.

Sheikh Hasina said she in her speech at the meeting highlighted Bangladesh's development philosophy and historic background and basic elements of its successful implementation.

The prime minister said she identified strategic plans and overall participation of the people as the key behind Bangladesh's development model.

"I have mentioned the people's welfare as the main theme of my politics," she said.

The Leader of the House said she also projected achievement, experience and challenge of Bangladesh in health, women empowerment and sustainable development goals as well as the steps to be taken by the G7.

Sheikh Hasina said the world leaders in the G7 Outreach Meeting considered her thinking and speeches with utmost importance and her statements were significantly reflected in the final declaration adopted by the G7 leaders.
