Dinajpur court orders arrest for Tarique

A Dinajpur court today issued an arrest warrant against BNP Senior Vice-chairman Tarique Rahman in a case filed for his derogatory remarks against Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 2014.

Parvez Ahmed Chowdhury Porag, a leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League in Dinajpur, filed the defamation case accusing Tarique on December 23, 2015.

The court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate FM Ahsanul Haque issued the arrest warrant against Tarique today, our Dinajpur correspondent reports quoting Samsur Rahman Parvez, lawyer of the plaintiff.

On December 15, 2014, Tarique made the derogatory comment against Bangabandhu in a meeting held in London.
