2 JCD men detained near Khaleda’s office

Police today picked up two activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), student wing of BNP, in front of Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office in Dhaka.

Jewel Khan and Nasir Uddin, students of a private university, went to the office around 1:45pm with some foods for the BNP chief.

When they tried to enter the office, policemen enquired of their identities and reasons of the visit.

The law enforcers picked them up following their repeated requests to allow them to get the foods into the office.

Sayrul Kabir Khan, who was present there at the time and a media wing staff of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, told The Daily Star that police detained the JCD men around 2:15pm.

The duty officer of Gulshan Police Station confirmed the incident, but denied elaborating further.
