Goyeshwar, DAB bosses summoned
The High Court today summoned BNP standing committee member Goyeshwar Chandra Roy and the vice-present and secretary general of pro-BNP doctors’ organisation Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB) for committing contempt of court.
Roy, DAB Vice President Prof M Salam and its Secretary General AZM Zahid Hossain, also an adviser to NP chief Khaleda Zia, have been ordered to appear before the court by 10:30am on April 20.
On Sunday, Roy at a human chain organised by DAB in front of the National Press Club said that “all courts are confined to Mujib court”.
In a suo moto rule, the court has asked the three to explain why legal measures would not be taken against them for such comment.
The HC bench of Justice Quazi Reza-Ul Haque and Justice ABM Altaf Hossain came up with the order following the report published in the daily Prothom Alo and Janakanatha.
