Evacuated from Kabul: 6 Bangladeshi engineers to reach Dhaka tonight
Six Bangladeshi telecom engineers, who were evacuated to Qatar from Afghanistan last week, are on the way to Dhaka.
The engineers -- Razib Bin Islam, Md Kamruzzaman, Mohammad Nazrul Islam, Imran Hossain, Abu Zafar Md Masud Karim and Shek Farid Uddin -- have already left Doha.
They will reach Dhaka via Dubai tonight, said a foreign ministry official.
The six telecom engineers, along with six other Bangladeshis and some 160 Afghan students of Asian University for Women in Chattogram, were evacuated last Friday and Saturday.
They were scheduled to fly back to Bangladesh on August 16, but flights were canceled following the Taliban's take over of Afghanistan on August 15.
They faced flight cancellation again in the aftermath of two bomb blasts that killed around 100 people.
Finally, with the help of US and UN, the Bangladeshis and Afghan students were evacuated.
Other six Bangladeshis and Afghan women are also in the process of returning in next few days, officials said.
