KOICA grants fully-sponsored masters for govt, non-govt officials
Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), in collaboration with the government of Bangladesh and the NGO Affairs Bureau, granted Masters scholarships to 11 eligible government and non-government officials for 2021.
The Pre-Orientation titled "KOICA's Masters Scholarship Programme 2021 and knowledge sharing webinar" was held virtually today.
Young-Ah Doh, Country Director of KOICA Bangladesh Office, along with the scholarship awardees, Masters alumni, and KOICA's partner organizations joined the webinar.
The event introduced KOICA's Scholarship Program to the participants in attendance as the full-sponsored opportunity to study in Korea.
It also comprised of two knowledge-sharing sessions presented by Masters alumni of 2019, where their first-hand experience gathered in Korea was highlighted.
KOICA's Fellowship Program essentially aims to enhance the human resource capacity of Bangladesh's institutions and, in turn, contribute to its socio-economic development to achieve its 2041 vision.
This year, KOICA is offering a total of 9 programmes in the following renowned Korean universities: Ewha Woman's University, Hallym University, KAIST, Kyungpook National University, Korea National University of Education, Korea University, Sungkyunkwan University, Seoul National University, and Yonsei University.
The subjects available to the candidates included gender, climate change, social economy, agriculture, finance, e-Government, public management, SDGs, etc.
Speaking on the occasion, KOICA's Country Director said more than 90 Bangladeshi government officials have been awarded a Masters degree from Korea to date.
She hoped the number increases in the coming years and the returnees can act as a bridge between Korea and Bangladesh to further strengthen its friendly ties.
