From The Land of Art, Fire and Emotions
BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan/Bulletproof Boys) is back with their album Wings, repackaged and re-released under the title "You Never Walk Alone", dominating charts like never before. If you thought their music could not get any better, they are here to prove you wrong.
They broke their own record of having the highest number of views on a K-pop group music video within 24 hours of the release of "Spring Day" (previously it was "Blood, Sweat and Tears"), and then broke their record once again with "Not Today". That is not all. "Spring Day" was listed in Billboard's Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart at No. 15 and on the other side, Melon digital charts crashed due to traffic overload. What a massacre.
The repackaged album contains all their songs from Wings, along with 4 new tracks. The physical album comes in two versions – Left and Right – with different coloured covers and photo-books. The CD and the random photo-card remains the same in the two versions.
The group's title tracks have left the K-pop fans in awe, and invited in new listeners. "Spring Day" was released on February 13, 2017 (which is coincidentally the first day of spring in Bangladesh). This song gives off an alternative rock mixed with pop music vibe, sprinkled with hip-hop – a match that has made fans around the world weep in joy. The lyrics talk about being separated from someone who is very dear and special, with the hope of being united someday. For that group of friends who fell apart with or without reasons, "Spring Day" is definitely a must hear. If this song puts people into depression, "Not Today" does the opposite. This EDM and dance-pop track is a mood lifter; it makes me want to get up and start dancing every time. The lyrics are about underdogs – win or lose - every day is a battle for them, one that they don't give up on. Safe to say, these two songs definitely live up to the expectations.
Like how Wings was based on Herman Hesse's Demian: The Story of Emil Sinclair's Youth, this album is themed from The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas by Ursula K. Le Guin, hinted from the music video of "Spring Day". The storyline from their previous album continues here, which has sparked up more interesting theories by crazy fans. Their idea of having a vast and fascinating story which continues in every album makes them very unique, and keeps their fans entertained. The music videos of both the new songs are beautiful, more so in terms of colour schemes and setting.
BTS is a K-pop group which never fails to amaze, captivating the fans with their extraordinary, yet relatable music. Be sure to check out this album.
