BSF kills cattle trader
A Bangladeshi cattle trader was shot dead by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in Putkhali border area of Benapole early yesterday.
A BSF team of Angrail camp opened fire on a group of traders while they were returning from India with cattle, killing Shahid Ali alias Foni, 32, son of Sadek Ali of the area instantly, said Lt Col Arifur Rahman, commanding officer, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Battalion 23.
Police recovered the body from the Ichhamoti after BSF dumped it in the river.
BGB has sent a letter to BSF protesting the incident.
Earlier on Friday, a man was shot dead allegedly by BSF at Char Kanapara border along Godagari upazila in Rajshahi.
Kalam, 30, of Char Ashriadaha of Godagari, was trying to enter India along with some others for bringing cattle, said Godagari police, quoting the victim's family.
