The (In)dispensables

In Bangladesh, we have a strange relationship with our domestic workers. From cooking to cleaning, we cannot think a day without them, but we hardly acknowledge their contributions in our life, and don't mind treating them with aggression and contempt. We know little about the draft policy that the government approved on December 21, 2015 for the protection and welfare of domestic workers with a provision of registration and legal assistance for them. Endorsing this draft of Domestic Help Protection and Welfare Policy-2015 is surely considered a milestone to stop the violence and torture against time, while enhancing the safety and security for both the employers and the workers.
