Child voters for Shahara!
Ruling Awami League workers took a large number of children to cast votes for Dhaka-18 constituency at the fag end of voting hours today.
Our Staff Correspondent who covered the polls in Uttara saw many children aged between 10 and 16 standing in queues to cast their votes.
About 100 kids were brought to Uttara Girls High School and College centre and instructed them cast vote for Shahara Khatun, a candidate of ruling AL.
The children were barred from talking to journalists and asked not to disclose anything to the media.
The organisers of the move however failed to get all the children cast votes due to close watch by the journalists.
Failing to stop voting by the kids, a poling officer was seen coming out from the centre around 3:30pm.
"I can't stop them, I am tired," the frustrated officer told The Daily Star seeking anonymity.
