Two held for Priyom killing in Ctg
Police arrested two persons from Koibollodham area of Chittagong city yesterday in connection with the murder of jewellery worker Priyom Acharjee.
Priyom, a former worker of jewellery factory “Shopnopuri Dice Cutting Centre”, was allegedly beaten to death by his ex-employer's men at Hazari Goli in Chittagong city on Saturday.
The arrestees are Chhoton Kumar, 22, a student of Omar Gani MES College, and Shuvo Majumder, 23.
Kotwali Police Station Sub-Inspector Md Kamruzzaman said, during primary interrogation, the duo admitted that they picked up Priyom from his residence in Koibollodham area and took him to the jewellery factory as per the instruction of the factory's owner Pintu Dhar.
On Saturday, Priyom's father filed a murder case with the police station accusing Pintu, Chhoton, Shuvo, and Shibu and five to eight other unnamed people.
Priyom succumbed to his injuries at Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
