Saurav Kumar performs at IGCC

Singer Saurav Kumar Nahar recently performed at an evening of Hindustani Classical Vocal Music at Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre in the city.
Saurav held the audience spellbound by playing some hit ragas like Shree, Yaman, Bhairavi and Hansadhwani at the musical rendezvous.
The singer was accompanied by Ratan Kumar Das on tabla, Bijon Chandra Mistri on harmonium, Kushal Roy on tanpura and Sharmista Sarker on tanpura.
Saurav is an established Hindustani Classical Vocal Music exponent of India. He is currently working as a vocal teacher-cum-performer at IGCC, Dhaka.
Saurav is one of the foremost exponents of Bhagalpur Sangeet Parampara. Born in Bihar of India in 1984, he is presently training under the guidance of his father Guru Pandit Sangeet Kr Nahar. Saurav hails from a family of great musical maestros like late Pandit Prahalad Prasad Mishra (his grandfather) and has trained under late Pandit Ram Naresh Mishra. He is an MA in music from Delhi University and pursuing his doctorate degree from Indira Kala Sangeet University Khairagarh.
He was awarded scholarship in 2003 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, India for his musical talent.
IGCC, in association with Asian Paints, IRCON and Marico Bangladesh, organised the event as part of its regular cultural programmes.
