Loan default: All 37 accused farmers, including 12 arrestees, get bail
A Pabna court today granted bail to all 37 farmers, including 12 arrestees, who were accused in a loan default case.
Pabna's Senior Judicial Magistrate Court-2 passed the order after the 12 arrestees were produced before it in the morning, our Pabna correspondent reports.
The 12 landed jail in connection with the case on Friday.
The court granted bail to all 37 upon a bond of Tk 1,000 each, said Toufique Imam Khan, the counsel for the farmers.
He said the 25 farmers, apart from the 12 arrested, also appeared before the court today seeking bail.
Bangladesh Samabaya Bank Limited in Pabna had filed the case accusing the 37 farmers of "Varoimari Uttorpara Vegetable farmer Cooperative Association" in Ishwardi upazila last year claiming a loan default worth Tk 13 lakh.
The court recently issued arrest warrants against them in this regard.
