Nat'l symposium on biotechnology at DU tomorrow

A national symposium on "The Role of Biotechnology in Improving the National Nutrition Status" will be held at 3.30 pm at TSC auditorium of Dhaka University tomorrow.

Organised by Bangladesh Biotechnological Society (BBS) on the occasion of its annual general meeting, the symposium will be chaired by Vice Chancellor of Islamic University Prof M Qaisuddin, said a press release.

Dr Harun K M Yusuf, Professor of Human Nutrition, Department of Biotechnology of DU and Vice-Chancellor of Patuakhali Science and Technology University will deliver the keynote paper.

A large number of scientists and experts are expected to attend the symposium.

State Minister for Planning Dr Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir will inaugurate the function as chief guest while DU Vice Chancellor Prof AK Azad Chowdhury will be the special guest of the symposium.

A cultural function will also be held in the evening on the occasion.
