Medical board for Shahbagh arson victims

The authorities of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital formed a 12-member medical board today to ensure better treatment to the Shahbagh bus arson victims.
The board was formed with the doctors at different departments of DMCH, Bangla daily Prothom Alo reports quoting Partha Pankaj Pal, a surgeon of DMCH burn unit.
The board members has already visited the victims and prescribed treatment for them, the surgeon said.
At least 19 people sustained severe burn injuries after arsonists set fire to a passenger bus near Shishu Park Thursday, the third and final day of the opposition blockade.
Two of the injured died at the burn unit of DMCH later.
Other 17 injured include a female journalist and her mother, a female High Court lawyer, a female banker, a policeman and a Dhaka College student were also admitted to DMCH burn unit.
Doctors said most of victims suffered 20 to 60 percent burns while some of them were in a “very critical” condition.
