Eid is here and with the festival comes an exciting array of TV programmes. Comedy, music, short films, game shows… you have it all at your fingertips with a mere touch of the remote.
So if you're looking for great entertainment amidst the hurry-flurry of Eid, here's a rundown of what TV channels have to offer:

Folk Rock with band Lalon
On the third day of Eid, “Folk Rock with band Lalon”, a special musical programme, will be aired on ATN Bangla at 11:50pm. The band, known for popularising songs of Lalon the bard to urban audiences, are set to perform eight songs. The programme -- hosted by Nusrat Faria -- will add a different flavour to the viewers' Eid entertainment, hopes Queen Rahman, the producer of the show.

TV Series Chhotokaku: Rajshahir Rashogolla
Adapting from Faridur Reza Sagor's adolescent novel “Chhotokaku”, Afzal Hossain has crafted the second episode of a TV series named “Rajshahir Rashogolla”. The series will go on air for a week, everyday at 6:10pm starting from the day before Eid-ul-Azha. The story of the TV series revolves around various mysterious happenings that unravel gradually to reveal the horizons of a glorious past. Afzal Hossain dons the role of “Chhotokaku” while, among others, Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed, Orsha and Shimanta enact various roles in the fiction.

Phono-Live Studio Concert
Special episodes of “Phono-Live Studio Concert” will be aired for six consecutive days, starting from Eid day, at 12:10am. The six-day programme will highlight popular and promising singers. On the first day, Kaniz Suborna will perform on the show. The other artistes are popular band Obscure and promising singers Liza, Rajib and Salma. The musical programme, hosted by Masuda Shormi, is directed by Kamruzzaman Ranju.

TV series “Bhalobashar Golpo”
Starting from Eid Day, a weeklong TV mini-series “Bhalobashar Golpo” will be aired everyday at 9:50 pm on ntv. It is written by Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury and directed by Redoan Rony. It follows seven visual shorts adapted from seven romantic stories of world literature. The cast of the series includes Mosharraf Karim, Bidya Sinha Mim, Iresh Zaker, Mehzabien, Shatabdi Wadud and Rawnak Hassan.

Game Show “Let's Play”
Game show “Let's Play” will be aired on Eid day at 5:15 pm. The programme features various performances, music, dance and discussion with TV models, actors, actresses and promising singers. Performers will win electronic appliances and apparels on the show. Hosted by model Nirob, the show is produced by Nahid Ahmed Biplob. Participating artistes are Mehzabien, Nasim, Ibrar Tipu, Sabbir, Nisha, Tanisha, Shoma, Samia, Tarin, Mahadi, Ronty Das, Mouri Selim and others.

TV Mini-series “Shey Je Dakatia Banshi”
Starting Eid Day, a weeklong mini TV Series “Shey Je Dakatia Banshi” will be aired everyday at 9pm on Desh TV. Written by Litu Sakhawat, popular actor Shahiduzzaman Selim has directed the series. The comedy series revolves around a love affair against a dramatic setting and the travails of a married couple. The cast of the series includes Shahiduzzaman Selim, Ishita, Sharmili Ahmed, Anindya, Swadhin Khosru and Nadia Ahmed.

TV Play “Boroi Prokritistho”
Written by Bipasha Hayat and directed by Tauquir Ahmed, TV play “Boroi Prokritistho” will be aired on Boishakhi TV at 8:40pm on the third day of Eid. Madina's life has become difficult due to the indifference to family responsibilities by her husband Rajab. He doesn't earn a penny, rather siphons off money from Madina's father's wealth. A new family comes to the village and opens a liquor shop that runs from evening to midnight. Madina threatens her husband of dire consequences if he visits there, but Rajab is talked into sneaking in there by a friend. Rajab gets more arrogant as days go by, while Madina falls silent. But then things take a twist. Nisha, Tarin, Rajib Salehin and Tauquir himself have played various roles in the play.

TV Play “Bhola Chor”
“Bhola Chor” is the first part of Rtv's seven-day themed TV plays, to be aired on 7:50pm on Eid day. Written by Shah Md. Naimul Karim and directed by Shahidun Nabi, it features Chanchal Chowdhury, Arfan, Tarique Swapan and Nousheen in various roles. “Bhola Chor” is a story of an absent-minded thief. He often forgets why he is trespassing into other people's houses, and gets his cohorts into trouble.

Telefilm “Harano Sur”
Written by Sagor Jahan and directed by Ripon Miya, tele-film “Harano Sur” is the story of a cable operator and a movie rental shop owner competing each other to win the heart of the new girl in the neighbourhood. As the girl's mother is unimpressed by both because they cannot find her an old film to watch, the girl and her friend keeps on taking gifts from both men.
The tele-silm, starring Mosharraf Karim, Mim, Arfan and Munira Mithu, will air at 11:20pm on Eid day, on the screens of Maasranga Television.

TV Play “Durey Jabo Bole”
On the second day of Eid, Channel 9 will air special single-episode TV play “Durey Jabo Bole” at 9:15pm. An impoverished couple in a village find themselves in dire straits as the husband gets bedridden to an unknown disease. While doctors prescribe expensive medicines and diet, the domestic-worker wife struggles to feed the four children in a family. One day she meets two gypsies, who make her an offer that puts her in a dilemma. Written and directed by Animesh Aich, the play has Mahfuz Ahmed and Farah Ruma in central roles.

Sportspersons' talk show “Over Boundary”
Two former skippers of the Bangladesh cricket team and successful players, Akram Khan and Khaled Mahmud will take part in an entertaining conversation with host Rumana Malik Munmun, on the third day of Eid at 8:15pm. The two will talk about their childhood, stories on and off the cricket field, hidden talents and family anecdotes on the programme, produced by Ananta Zahid.
