DB arrests 6 carjackers

Detective Branch of police arrested six alleged carjackers and recovered 14 vehicles from in and outside the capital on Thursday.
On a tip off, a team of DB police arrested four people in the capital's Panthapath and seized two handguns from them, said Krishna Pada Roy, deputy commissioner (South) of DB police, at a press briefing at DMP media centre.
Using information learned during the arrestees' interrogation, the detectives arrested two of their associates in Kalabagan of the capital, he added.
The arrestees are Md Nechhar Hossain, 35, Al-Amin, 24, Mizanur Rahman, 22, Manjur Elahi, 23, Babu, 22, and Titu Patowari, 30.
The DB officials also recovered six private cars and eight motorcycles from Dhanmondi and Paltan of the capital and from Ashulia, Keraniganj and Gazipur.
