Miscreants hurled two crude bombs at the village home of Jatiya Party Presidium Member Anisul Islam Mahmud in Hathazari upazila of Chittagong early today.
The homemade bombs blasted outside the boundary wall of the Sadeknagar residence of Mahmud, water resources minister of the polls-time government.
None was reported hurt in the explosions, reports our Chittagong correspondent quoting AFM Nizamuddin, assistant superintendent of police (Hathazari Circle).
The ASP said unidentified criminals blasted the crude bombs around 3:30am, creating panic among the local people.
Informed by on-duty policemen deployed at the house, a patrol team of police visited the spot but could not arrest anyone in this connection.
Five police personnel, a security guard and a domestic help were inside the house during the blasts as Mahmud lives in Dhaka along with his family, the ASP said.
