Minorities fear violence ahead of polls
Expressing anxiety over potential violence they may face surrounding the upcoming national election, minority community leaders yesterday sought protection against it.
Ahead of every parliamentary election, the magnitude of violence increases against minority communities, they said at a meeting organised in Kirtonkhola Auditorium of Barisal city by Minority Rights Forum and Bangladesh Trust.
Speakers there also raised a seven-point demand including formation of a minority commission, minority ministry and 15 percent reserved seats in parliament.
