Jamaat activist Gazi Nasir was made the main accused in Jubo League activist Jogotjyoti Talukder murder case.
Jamaat-e-Islami's Sylhet city unit Nayebe Ameer Hafiz Abdul Hai Harun, Secretary Sirajul Islam Shahin and Assistant Secretary Fokhrul Islam were also made accused in the case filed with Sylhet Kotwali Police Station yesterday.
Sylhet Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner Rezaul Karim said Jogotjyoti's friend Shabbir Ahmed filed the case accusing 25 people by name and 15 to 20 unnamed.
All the accused are Jamaat and Shibir men, he said.
On Saturday night, some miscreants stabbed Jogotjyoti, also an activist of the Gonojagoron Mancha in Sylhet, when he and some of his friends were taking tea at a shop in Topobon Housing area. Jubo League activist Jewel Ahmed was also injured in the incident.
They were rushed to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital where Jogotjyoti died. Jewel is now undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Jogotjyoti's car was also torched during the attack.
Leaders of Sylhet district unit and Sylhet city unit of Awami League and Jubo League at different rallies in the past four days alleged that Jamaat-Shibir men were involved in the killing.
However, leaders of Jamaat and Shibir denied the allegation. They claimed that Jogotjyoti was killed following intra-party rivalry and factional dispute of Jubo League over extortion.
Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith and Minister without Portfolio Suranjit Sengupta have expressed deep shock at the death of Jogotjyoti.
