BGB man shot dead in Comilla
A jawan of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) was shot dead when villagers in Comilla attacked a group of law enforcers this afternoon.
Ripon, 35, died on the spot as two bullets hit him in the head during the clash that began around 4:30pm, our Comilla correspondent reports quoting doctor of Comilla Medical College Hospital.
Three policemen were also injured in the attack.
Sources said the villagers attacked law enforcers when they went to Dokkhin Chortha village around 4:30pm to bring back the body of Delawar Hossain who died in cocktail blasts yesterday.
The law enforcers reached the village at a time when the burial was going on.
Delwar, a human hauler driver, was killed being hit by splinters as opposition activists hurled crude bombs during a clash with police in Comilla yesterday.
BNP however claimed that Delwar was an activist of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), student wing of the main opposition party.
