Jubo League leader whose conversation with ex-PM went viral arrested

Police arrested Jahangir Alam, office secretary of Gaibandha's Gobindganj Jubo League unit, in Naogaon's Manda upazila in a vandalism case on November 15.

He was sent to jail through a court the next day, said police.

Bulbul Islam, officer-in-charge of the Gobindaganj Police Station, said Jahangir was arrested for vandalising the BNP's Gobindaganj office on August 3.

Faridul Islam, a BNP leader, filed the case against 89 Awami League leaders including former parliamentarian Abul Kalam Azad and Jahangir on November 7.

Mentionable, a phone conversation between Jahangir and former prime minister Sheikh Hasina went viral on social media on November 7.
