SI killed after being hit by train while on phone call in Dhaka

A police officer was killed after being struck by a train while speaking on mobile phone along the railway tracks in Dhaka's airport area last night.
The deceased, KM Monsur Ali, was a sub-inspector of Dakshinkhan Police Station.
The incident occurred around 9:30pm as he was walking on the rail tracks while on a phone call, said Taifur Rahman Mirza, officer-in-charge of Dakshin Khan Police Station.
Monsur had just completed his duty at the Ashkona Hajj Camp and was heading to his residence in Pallabi, he added.
According to the railway police, he was hit by the Padma Express train.
With critical injuries, he was taken to Kuwait Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital, where doctors declared him dead, said Jaynal Abedin, officer-in-charge of Dhaka Railway Police Station.
His body has been kept at the Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy.
