Reshuffle in police: 16 DIGs, 35 addl DIGs transferred
In a major reshuffle in the police force, 16 deputy inspector generals (DIGs) and 35 additional deputy inspector generals (Addl DIGs) have been transferred.
The home ministry today issued two separate notifications, signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Mahabur Rahman Sheikh in this regard.
As per the orders, CID DIG Abu Kalam Siddique was assigned to the Tourist Police, while Additional DIG of CID AKM Nahidul Islam, who was recently promoted to DIG, was transferred to the CID.
Besides, Biplab Bijoy Talukdar, joint commissioner of DMP, who was also promoted to DIG, has assumed the role of Commissioner of Police (DIG) in Rajshahi.
Barishal Range DIG SM Aktaruzzaman will now serve at the Dhaka Police Staff College, and Highway Police DIG Mozammel Haque has been appointed as the Khulna Metropolitan Police Commissioner. Additionally, Anisur Rahman, the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Commissioner, has been designated as Rajshahi Range DIG.
Rajshahi Range DIG Abdul Baten has been assigned as Rangpur Range DIG, while Rangpur Range DIG Abdul Alim Mahmud will now serve in the Anti-Terrorism Unit. Moreover, Jamil Hasan, the DIG of the Armed Police Battalion, will assume the role of Barisal Range DIG, and Rakhfar Sultana Khanom, previously an additional DIG of the Special Branch (SB) and now promoted to DIG, will join the Sarada Police Academy in Rajshahi.
Furthermore, Zakir Hossain Khan, currently serving as a joint commissioner of police in the DMP and recently promoted to DIG, has been transferred to the Industrial Police. Similarly, Moniruzzaman, an additional DIG of the Special Branch (SB) of Police and recently promoted to Deputy Inspector General of Police, will now serve in the SB department. Mohammad Abdullah Baki, an additional DIG at Police Headquarters and recently promoted to Deputy Inspector General of Police, will join the Armed Police Battalion.
Likewise, Tangail Police Training Center Commandant (DIG) Md Moinul Islam will assume the role of Dhaka Training Driving School Commandant while Nazrul Islam, commandant (DIG) of Dhaka Training Driving School has been posted to Tangail Police Training Centre.
