Cattle expo held in the port city

With an aim to promoting cattle farming, a daylong "Cattle Expo" was held at the outer stadium of port city yesterday.

Chattogram Cattle Farmers Association organised the expo from 10:00am to 5:00pm for the second time.

More than 100 cattle of various breeds were on display at the show.

Meanwhile, the main attraction of the expo was "Kankrej", an Indian breed of zebuine cattle, brought by NB Agro. Kankrej originates from the state of Gujarat, and in neighbouring Rajasthan, experts said.

Faisal Shahriar, a visitor of the expo, said, "I came to this expo to learn about cattle rearing and farming."

Bourhanul Hasan Chowdhury, chief coordinator of the expo and president of Chattogram Cattle Farmers Association, said this expo is to promote agro business.

Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Science University Vice Chancellor Dr ASM Lutful Ehsan, Mayor of Chittagong City Corporation Rezaul Karim Chowdhury, Channel i Director and Head of News Shaikh Siraj, Chattogram District Animal Resources Officer Dr Md Delowar Hossain, Chattogram Chamber of Commerce & Industry President Mahbubul Alam, were present at the expo, among others.
