TikToker arrested on charges of rape in Moulvibazar

Police arrested a TikToker last night on charges of rape in Sreemangal upazila of Moulvibazar district.

The accused has been sent to jail through Moulvibazar court today.

The arrestee is Masud Gani Manna (25), of Anantapur village under Sadar Police Station of Habiganj district, reports our Moulvibazar correspondent.

Quoting the case statement, Inspector Md Humayun Kabir of Sreemangal Police Station said that the accused was in a relationship with a young woman whom he met through the TikTok app.

The victim was forcibly taken to a resort and raped after promise of marriage. A video of the act was recorded and shared on social media using a fake Facebook ID, the police official said quoting the case statement.

Sreemangal Police Station Sub-inspector, Md Anwarul Islam Pathan, said, "After the victim filed a case with Sreemangal Police Station, police arrested Masud last night by conducting a raid in Tukerpara area of ​​Sylhet district."
