Misbehaviour with B'baria judge 'damaged dignity of judiciary'
The Bangladesh Judicial Service Association (BJSA) has demanded exemplary punishment for lawyers involved in misbehaving and scolding the judge of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-1 in Brahmanbaria and creating chaos in the courtroom on January 2.
The decision was made in an emergency meeting of the BJSA today.
Exemplary punishment should be demanded for the guilty persons through fair investigation so that no one dares to commit such a reprehensible and arrogant act in the future, said BJSA president AHM Habibur Rahman Bhiuyan, also senior judge of Dhaka District and Sessions Judge's Court.
On January 2, some lawyers illegally interfered in the judicial work at the courtroom of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-1 in Brahmanbaria, he said.
"The manner in which the judge was treated is out of the bounds of decency. It is unexpected, disgusting, and deeply regrettable," he also said.
"This has severely damaged the dignity of the judiciary," the judge added.
