2 hurt as crude bombs explode at Jubo League meeting in Jatrabari
At least two Jubo league activists were injured after three crude bombs went off during a meeting of the organisation at Jatrabari in Dhaka tonight, say police.
The incident took place at Shaheed Faruk Road at around 8:30pm, Mazharul Islam, officer-in-charge of Jatrabari Police Station confirmed The Daily Star.
Of the injured, one Shamim Ahmed, 40, rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with minor injuries, said the hospital sources.
He said three cocktails exploded during a Jubo League meeting in Jatrabari area tonight.
"During the Jubo League meeting, a procession of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal was going through the place," he said, assuming that the bombs might be thrown from the procession.
Meanwhile, three persons were detained in this connection, he added.
