4th Vector Survey of Eco-Bio-Social Research Project launched at NSU
To improve dengue prevention, prediction and control of dengue hemorrhagic fever in tropical countries like Bangladesh and other developing nations, the Department of Public Health, North South University (NSU) and the University of Manitoba are jointly organising Eco-Bio-Social research on Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever in Bangladesh, funded by Canadian International Development Research Centre. It is a joint international research project between University of Manitoba, International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (ICDDRB), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and NSU.
The inauguration of 4th Vector survey of this research project was held on August 19, 2013 at NSU campus. Professor Amin U. Sarkar, Vice Chancellor of NSU, attended the programme as chief guest, while Professor Dr. G.U. Ahsan, Chairman, Department of Public Health, chaired the session. Professor Dr. A.N.M. Meshquat Uddin, Pro Vice Chancellor; Professor Benazir Ahmed, Director, Disease Control and Line Director, CDC, DGHS; Professor C. Emdad Haque, NRI, University of Manitoba; Dr. L. Robbin Lindsay, Research Scientist of Field Studies, Public Health Agency of Canada were present as special guests.
