Sust teachers to observe work abstention tomorrow

Teachers of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Sust) will wear black badge and observe work abstention tomorrow protesting the recent attack on their fellow teacher Professor Neaz Ahmed of Social work department.
They will also bring out a procession demanding stern actions in 10 working days against the attacker Oyes Ahmed, informed Prof Muhammad Younus, president of Sust Teachers Association yesterday.
Newborn's body recovered in Ctg

Police recovered the body of a newborn baby from a roadside dustbin in Chittagong city's Chowmuhoni area yesterday.
Police said someone might have left the body here at dead of the night. The body was handed over to Anjumane Mofidul Islam authority.
9000 yaba tablets seized, four detained in Ctg

Police arrested four people and seized 9,000 yaba tablets worth Tk 27 lakh from a dry-fish carrying truck in Bakalia area of Chittagong city yesterday.
Tipped-off police intercepted the truck at Shah Amanat Bridge area and arrested Syed Noor, 28, Md Ishak, 20, truck driver Abdus Sukkur, 26 and helper Manurul Islam, 25, all hailing from Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar.
Rickshaw-vans distributed among 80 insolvent people in Ctg

Chattagram Samity-Dhaka yesterday distributed rickshaw-vans among 80 insolvent people in Chittagong.
The organisation, working for the welfare of Chittagong people, distributed the vans at Gymnasium Hall of MA Aziz Stadium.
Housing and Public Works Minister Engr Mosharraf Hossain, Chittagong City Corporation Mayor Manjur Alam, Chattagram Samity-Dhaka President Laila Siddique and the organisation's former presidents, Azizul Huq Chowdhury, Jahangir Alam Khan and Rezaul Huq Chowdhury Mushtaq were present.
