Depression crosses West Bengal border
The monsoon deep depression formed over the northwest Bay and adjoining areas moved northwestwards and crossed Orissa-West Bengal coast of India near Digha at about 7:00am yesterday.
Now it lies over West Bengal and adjoining Orissa as a land depression.
Under its influence steep pressure gradient persists over north Bay. Squally weather may affect the maritime ports and the coastal regions of Bangladesh, said a Met office special bulletin yesterday.
Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar and Mongla have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal number three.
All fishing boats and trawlers over north Bay have been advised to remain in shelter till further notice.
