PM returns home
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina returned home last night after attending the 15th summit of the Non-Aligned Movement held in Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt.
A special flight of Bangladesh Biman carrying the PM and her entourage landed at Zia International Airport at 11:20pm.
She reached her official residence at Jamuna at around 12:00 midnight, PM's Deputy Press Secretary Mahbubul Hoque Shakil, one of her entourage told The Daily Star.
Earlier on the day, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak's representative, Minister for Environment Maged George Elias Ghallas, saw off the prime minister at Sharm El Sheikh International Airport at about 3:30pm, reports UNB.
On Tuesday a 36-member official delegation led by the prime minister, and a 14-member media team went to Egypt to attend the two-day summit.
The Summit concluded Thursday with the adoption of final documents and a summit declaration calling for forging a stronger solidarity among the member states to promote peace and development by facing the global threats and challenges with a synergy.
Heads of state or government from over 100 Nam countries from across the world highlighted their debate on the summit theme 'International Solidarity for Peace and Development' and on current burning issues on global and regional planes.
At the summit, Hasina was elected Nam vice-chair for the next three years.
