Daily Star bow out
The Daily Star capitulated to a 5-2 loss against Gemcon to bow out of the Ascent 5-a-side corporate indoor soccer cup with their heads hanging low.
Fielding a side mostly made up of reserves, the newspaper men held their opponents at bay in the first half as it finished only 1-0. But with wholesale personnel changes in the second half, they lost all rhythm.
Gemcon took full advantage and rubbed salt into their already open wounds by inflicting a massive defeat.
7-2 was the scoreline as United Leasing drubbed Radisson Hotels. But the biggest scorers on the night was IIDFC who put nine past a hapless Securex.
Nokia continued their rise, scoring a 5-0 win over Grey while Olympic Industries also continued their ascent with a 4-2 win over Rahimafrooz.
HRC, Novartis and Ispahani all found the going much toughed but ended winners on the night in tight games.
