Lopez signs for Lyon
Argentine striker Lisandro Lopez has signed a five-year deal with French club Lyon worth 24 million euros.
The 26-year-old centre forward signed from Porto, with whom he was the Portuguese league's top scorer in the 2007/08 season, finding the net 24 times.
Last season he garnered a more modest 10 goals, but he has also scored 13 times in 28 Champions League games for the Portuguese champions.
The deal, costing 24 million euros with a further 4 million payable in result-related bonuses, is the highest ever player fee paid by the deposed French champions.
Lyon, who failed to lift an eighth straight league title last season and must go through the Champions League qualifying round, are in transition and Lopez is their first summer signing.
They have just sold Brazil midfielder Juninho, France striker Karim Benzema - sold to Real Madrid for 35 million euros - and Ivory Coast star Kader Keita, who has joined Turkish outfit Galatasaray
