Bangabandhu Trust to set up hospital in Gazipur
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Trust has taken an initiative to establish a 250-bed general hospital and nursing institute at Joydevpur in Gazipur.
Ministry of Health and Family Welfare will provide financial and other assistances for the non-profit, public welfare institute. The ministry took the decision at a meeting yesterday with Health Minister Dr AFM Ruhal Haque in the chair.
A plan has also been taken to establish Fazilatunnesa Mujib Memorial Hospital and Nursing Institute at land of the trust by 2012.
Health Secretary Sheikh Altaf Ali, Additional Secretary Borun Dev Mitra, DGHS Director General Shah Monir Hossain, and DGFP Director General Mohammad Abdul Quaium were present at the meeting.
